Childhood Truth
It’s so true that we’ve “sterilized” much of childhood. But with that comes an inability to accept that the world is not always fair, it’s not always about us and we truly can’t always get what we want.— Laura B.

Ed McMahon died in June, 2009. He was a great entertainer, but prior to his stage accomplishments he was a distinguished Marine Corps fighter pilot in WWII earning six Air Medals and attaining the rank of Colonel. He was discharged in 1946 and was later promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the CA Air National Guard.
Farrah Fawcett died in June, 2009 after a long career in Hollywood as an actress. After she was diagnosed with cancer, she became an activist for cancer treatment and devoted her last remaining years encouraging people to seek treatment. She documented her plight on film and used it to encourage others to stay positive and upbeat despite their diagnosis and suffering.
Michael Jackson died in June, 2009. He was perhaps one of the greatest singers of modern time. He will also be remembered for his eccentric lifestyle that included sleeping with a chimpanzee, living in a carnival-like atmosphere at Neverland, his fascination with Peter Pan, and his numerous masks and costumes. He also admitted to finding pleasure sleeping with young boys and paying out millions of dollars in settlements to the families of these boys despite being acquitted by a court on one allegation of sexual molestation.
QUESTION - Which of the above did the House of Representatives declare a moment of silence for today? (Hint - It wasn't the first two.)
QUESTION - Which of the above's family received a personal note of condolence from President Obama? (Hint - It wasn't the first two.)
Need we say more??

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained.
I waited a few days deciding whether or not to forward this on, since Obama dropped the issue due to overwhelming opposition. However after due consideration, I still feel that this man should be held accountable for even considering such an action.
And even if military personnel could obtain heath insurance from a private carrier, can you imagine the cost, as well as, the exclusions. What country or for that matter, what planet is Obama from.
By the way, I checked the accuracy of the below e-mail, through www.truthorfiction.com
I want to be sure all of you have this in case you missed this in the news . . . It is so unbelievable . . . I keep thinking I can't be stunned by what is happening , but this truly amazes me . . . The same government that picks up the health tab for illegal aliens wants the military to pay for their own health care!
I don't care what your political views are. You must read this.
Another look at our president, unbelievable!
*******************
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO LET THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES . . . WHAT A EMPTY-HEADED PERSON HE MUST BE . . . SEND THIS TO EVERYONE TO SHOW JUST WHAT HE THINKS OF OUR MILITARY WHO FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY AND GET HURT PROTECTING OUR FREEDOM!
......
Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans to carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.
The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained.
"Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute."
"I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued.
"I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
Please pass this onto every vet and their families whom you know.
The Obama administration plans to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the treatment service related injuries of military personnel -Truth! -but Cancelled

Put this nation back on the capitalist track. We are not, and do not want to be like Canada, or Europe. Those are nice places to visit, but no one wants to live there. That is why they have baby bonus payments for people that have childeren as their native populations are shrinking...

Great lesson plan professor!
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student, but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that socialism worked;that no one would be poor, and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged, and everyone would receive the same grade; so no one would fail, and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged, and everyone got a B..
The students who studied hard were upset, and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less, and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame, and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings, and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Can it be any simpler than that?
